Refund Policy
Last Updated: March 20, 2026
1. Overview
This Refund Policy applies to all token purchases made through AIDJSets. Token purchases are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), which acts as our Merchant of Record.
This policy is drafted in compliance with German distance selling regulations (Fernabsatzrecht) under the German Civil Code (BGB).
2. Right of Withdrawal (Widerrufsrecht)
2.1 Your Statutory Right
As a consumer within the meaning of § 13 BGB, you generally have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving any reason (§§ 312g, 355 BGB).
2.2 Digital Content Exception
Important: Token packages constitute digital content that is not supplied on a tangible medium within the meaning of § 356 Abs. 5 BGB.
When you purchase tokens, you are asked to:
- Expressly consent to us beginning the provision of the digital content (token delivery) before the 14-day withdrawal period has expired; and
- Acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal.
By confirming your purchase and agreeing to immediate token delivery, your right of withdrawal expires upon the tokens being credited to your account, in accordance with § 356 Abs. 5 BGB.
2.3 Model Withdrawal Form
Even though the withdrawal right typically expires upon token delivery (see Section 2.2), for transparency, we provide the following model withdrawal form as required by Art. 246a § 1 Abs. 2 Satz 1 Nr. 1 EGBGB:
Model Withdrawal Form
To: Tobias Thiele, [email protected]
I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the purchase of the following digital content:
- Order number: ________________
- Ordered on: ________________
- Name: ________________
- Email: ________________
- Date: ________________
- Signature (only for paper communication): ________________
3. Refund Eligibility
Despite the expiration of the statutory withdrawal right, we offer refunds in the following cases:
3.1 Technical Failure
If tokens were purchased but not credited to your account due to a technical error on our side, you are entitled to either:
- The tokens being credited correctly, or
- A full refund of the purchase price.
3.2 Duplicate Purchases
If you were charged multiple times for the same token package due to a technical error, you are entitled to a refund of the duplicate charge(s).
3.3 Unauthorized Purchases
If a purchase was made without your authorization (e.g., unauthorized access to your account or payment method), we will investigate and, where verified, issue a full refund.
3.4 Service Discontinuation
If we permanently discontinue the AIDJSets service, we will make reasonable efforts to refund the value of unused tokens to affected users, calculated pro-rata based on unused token balances.
4. Non-Refundable Scenarios
Refunds will not be issued for:
- Tokens that have already been used (consumed for AI set generation).
- Dissatisfaction with AI-generated set results (AI output quality is inherently variable).
- Voluntary account deletion with remaining unused tokens.
- Failure to use tokens within any self-imposed timeframe (tokens do not expire).
- Price differences between token packages.
5. Refund Process
5.1 How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, contact us at:
Email: [email protected]
Please include:
- Your account email address
- Order number or Paddle receipt/invoice number
- Reason for the refund request
- Date of purchase
5.2 Processing
Since Paddle is our Merchant of Record, refunds are processed through Paddle's payment system:
- We will review your request within 5 business days.
- If approved, we will initiate the refund through Paddle.
- Paddle will process the refund to your original payment method.
- Refund processing time depends on your payment provider (typically 5–10 business days after initiation).
- You will receive a refund confirmation email from Paddle.
5.3 Token Balance Adjustment
Upon refund approval, the corresponding tokens will be deducted from your account balance. If you have already used some tokens from the refunded package, the refund amount may be adjusted proportionally.
6. Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback through your payment provider instead of contacting us directly, we reserve the right to suspend your account pending investigation. We encourage you to contact us first at [email protected] so we can resolve the issue directly and promptly.
7. Paddle's Role
As Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record:
- The purchase contract for the payment transaction is between you and Paddle.
- Paddle issues the invoice/receipt for your purchase.
- Paddle handles VAT calculation and collection.
- Refunds are processed through Paddle's systems back to your original payment method.
- For payment-specific issues (failed transactions, payment method problems), you may also contact Paddle directly through the links provided in your purchase receipt.
8. Consumer Rights
This Refund Policy does not limit any rights you may have under mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence. If mandatory provisions of your local consumer protection law provide you with more favorable rights, those rights apply in addition to this policy.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on our website with a new "Last Updated" date. The policy in effect at the time of your purchase governs that transaction.
